Rome: The Head of the Police - 'Clandestine is the Major cause of the rise of Criminality.

The head of the Police Antonio Manganelli stated that “Clandestine are the major cause of criminality here in Italy”, He Continued stating that “Without clandestine, there would be more space in the jails”. Maroni who is the minister of Home Affairs as well stated that “The blocking of Clandestine is the sign of respect to the law”, “clandestine immigration, from the point of view of the head of the police, is a serious crime”. The head of the Police, Mr. Antonio Manganelli, stated this at the presentation of the new trade-union Federation of police in Rome. “In some areas of the Country”, continued Manganelli, “60-70% of crimes are committed by the clandestine. Moreover, 35% of the people in the prison are clandestine. This clearly means, without them there would be an extra space of 35% in the jails and that the prisoners would have more air and space than they have today ".
Also, the minister of the Home Affairs, Hon. Roberto Maroni, in the same convention, spoke about clandestine immigration, making it clear that, after the agreement on the cooperation between Italy and Libya, has helped to decrease up to 92% of the disembarks in Lampedusa.
