
Rome, 25 september 2009 - “A Country is made to respect and hence to be respected. If it is respected and moreover if it respects others by not offending who is different from them or by the religion, minority, homosexuals or the colour of skin, then immigrants and citizens will live in harmony."
This was stated by the president of the Republic, George Napolitano, in his speech during the occasion of the inauguration of the academic year.
The head of the State intentionally remembered these principles as he spoke about the birth of the “unitary national State” and of the role and the respect Italy conquered.
