From today, in Rome all public transportation tickets, the BIT, will rise from 1.00 euro that was valid for 75 minutes to 1.50 euro valid for 100 minutes . "The increase of the cost of a ticket is equal to those in all cities, Milan for example," said Rome's Mayor Gianni Alemanno as he called on Romans to "get season tickets."
Due to these changes, daily tickets will cost €6, three-day tourist tickets €16.50, weekly €24, monthly €35 and the annual season ticket €250.
Old tickets may still be used until 31 July. From then until 31 October, old tickets can be exchanged for new ones at ATAC ticket counters by paying the difference in price. Annual season-tickets will remain valid until their natural expiry date.
