Tomorrow the 8th December, Italians celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
On the afternoon of December 8 as Christian Tradition, Pope Benedict XVI will visit and pay homage to the statue of Virgin Mary located in the Spanish Square in Rome.
In every early December, the Pope or his envoy places flowers at the column of the Piazza di Spagna. It is the only one festival in the Catholic church that does not celebrate the immaculate conception of Jesus, but the conception of the Virgin mother herself.
